Tecnau is pleased to announce the successful installation of a Revolution 50 AutoSetup system at Control Media, one of the Netherlands' leading digital print service providers and a member of the Cimpress organization.
Control Media operates in a demanding production environment, managing a wide range of commercial print and web-to-print applications, as well as overflow production from other Cimpress operations. This mix of work required a finishing solution capable of handling frequent job changes while maintaining efficiency and production flexibility.
Installed in a nearline configuration with two Canon ProStream 1800 digital inkjet presses, the Revolution 50 AutoSetup supports Control Media's commercial print production while providing the agility needed to efficiently process highly variable workloads.
The relationship between Control Media and Tecnau began several years before the final investment decision. Following an initial introduction through Tecnau's partner Kentie, key members of the Control Media team visited the Tecnau Experience Center in Italy to explore how Tecnau's finishing technology could support their evolving production environment. During the visit, they reviewed a broad range of applications and experienced first-hand the flexibility of the Tecnau architecture and its approach to production automation.
The experience helped establish confidence in the technology and laid the foundation for a long-term partnership. As Control Media continued to expand its digital print operations, the Revolution 50 AutoSetup emerged as a natural fit thanks to its ability to support highly variable production environments while maintaining operational simplicity.
Designed to eliminate many of the manual adjustments traditionally associated with roll-fed finishing, the system automatically adapts to changing production requirements. It can switch on the fly between 1-up, 2-up, 3-up, and 4-up impositions, as well as varying sheet lengths, without operator intervention. This enables uninterrupted production while helping reduce setup times, paper waste, and dependency on highly specialized labor
